Creating The Home of Beautiful Plants

The Plant Point was already a much-loved Leeds plant shop, with a great reputation and loyal customers. But the brand had stayed a bit homemade, and it was starting to hold the business back. Sonia and Ada wanted to refresh the identity and build an online store so they could sell beyond the shop, without losing what people already loved about them.

The market was very noisy. Garden centres, big-box retailers and generic online plant sellers all looked and sounded the same. The job was to make The Plant Point feel like the obvious choice for people who care about quality, and want plants that actually thrive.

CHALLENGE

This was not really a “new logo” job. It was a perception job.

We needed to focus what made them different and make it easy to understand quickly. The real value was not just nice-looking plants. It was the personal attention and practical guidance: recommendations based on light, placement, care, and what will work in a real home or office.

Along with creating a more premium identity that aligned with their target customers, affluent students, offices and city-based homeowners.

KEY DECISIONS

The goal was to define what The Plant Point stood for, both functionally and emotionally, and build a narrative that would feel aligned to existing customers while attracting new ones.

We began by immersing ourselves in the business (we also bought a lot of plants for our home and office!), working closely with Sonia and Ada to get to the heart of what they wanted The Plant Point to stand for. We understood that their real point of difference was about the personal recommendations they were able to provide to their customers – not just about what plants look good but where to place them, how to care for them and how to curate a selection of plants for a home or office that will thrive, and not die!

IMPACT

The repositioning gave The Plant Point a clear premium identity and messaging that articulated a compelling reason for customers to choose The Plant Point over more generic alternatives – a place where expertise and enthusiasm help plants thrive, and their owners feel empowered to keep their plants alive!

The refreshed identity and narrative amplified the business’s reputation for personalised service while laying groundwork for future expansion beyond its original shop. We also created their online store and supported with copy across the site and their printed materials.

STRATEGY

We worked closely with Sonia and Ada to define a clearer positioning and a more premium identity that still felt like them.

Laurra developed the tagline and proposition “The Home of Beautiful Plants”, turning the shop into a destination, not just a supplier.

The visual identity was refreshed with a redesigned logo combining a pinpoint and a plant, and a richer palette of dark greens and golds to signal quality and confidence.

We also proposed new marketing tactics, including plant rental for weddings and events, and plant consultation, which includes a home or office visit and a bespoke proposal of plants for different areas based on light and suitability for each space.

”We are completely over the moon with everything you have done for us! Working with you was a genuinely delightful experience, you listened to all of our ideas and gave us an opportunity to view our brand from a completely new perspective. Any feedback given, was clear and concise, making it much easier to make decisions about which directions to take. It gave us a huge amount of confidence to roll out our re-brand, knowing that we had worked together to develop a strong brand image that was right for us. Thank you!
